“Strong, tough and independent.”
Me in a word: Ambitious
I grew up in Durban and after matric I moved to Johannesburg in 1999.
I got married in 2002 and we have two kids. We moved back to Durban for six years but returned to Joburg in 2021. That’s when I joined Learning Curve – and knew I’d found home.
As a kid, I wanted to be a lawyer – to stand out and make a difference. Then I got a boyfriend and … well, plans changed.
I love making – and eating – potato curry braised with Packo chillies – so that’s what I like cooking at home.
Pets? I’m a dog person. Because “dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you.”
My desert island survival partner would be the Zulu King. I’m sure there’d be a massive search party to find him, so they’ll also find me! I’m a typical Aquarius; apparently we’re smart and analytical. I’m also strong, tough and independent. (I do wish I had a great singing voice, though.)
Santorini in Greece is a place that’s on my bucket list – it looks akin to walking into a postcard.
If I could, I’d be spending more time at church in praise and worship. And if I had the power to change laws, I’d probably ban alcohol and smoking – and I’d make water and electricity free.
At Learning Curve, I’m part of a positive team where our work is appreciated, and everyone is loved and respected. I love this family culture and the fact that there are opportunities to grow and progress within the company.
There’s always bubblegum in my desk drawer!
If I had to describe our company culture in just one word, it would be Ubuntu “I am because you are.”
